The listed water tower was built in 1898�as the oldest water supply in the urban area. It is situated on a rise at the end of the Esmarchstra�e. Architectonically it is Kiel's biggest cupola construction. Today merely the tower's lower container is used�for storage. The remainder is unused.���

The old technical facilities are still completely preserved but can not be viewed.
