The Kunsthalle of the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel shows in three big rooms changing exhibitions from all epochs. With an exhibition area of 1300 m2 it is the biggest museum of the regional state capital. 

Emphasis is on romantic painting of the 19th century, Russian paintings of the turn of the century, German Impressionism as well as art from 1945 to the present. A collection of graphics and a video compilation can be viewed on request.

The Kunsthalle has in addition an auditory, the cafe "Zum blauen Kamel" and a sculpture garden with a lovely view onto the city centre, Kieler Förde and palace garden. The Antiquity collection can be viewed free of charge without a visit to the Kunsthalle.
