A permanent exhibition depicts Kiel's shipping history in a shut down fish hall directly at the Kiel harbour. It deals with the shipbuilding scene at the Kieler Fjord as well as the sailing sport. Several ship's models, nautical instruments and figure-heads inform about the shipping history.  

During the summer half-year there is the possibility to view three old vintage ships on the museum's bridge at the neighbouring Museum Harbour: the lifeboat "Hindenburg", the fire-fighting boat "Kiel" and the buoy dropper "Bussard". More information
